I’ve been to places never seen
Where sky ain’t blue and grass ain’t green
I know I said I was never coming down
I asked you not to follow me
Not every shade comes from a tree
Bigger ships than this have run aground
Suddenly the clouds had rearranged
My memory came falling from its place
Unexplainable new sights for happiness lay in disguise
Stood in front of me for most the time
Everchanging sounds and shapes
Darker tones of brown and gray
We waited for the sun, it never came

As our delusions disappear
We welcome now a brand new year
Our hidden garden blossoms in that space
It didn’t take long to see that our beliefs were not enough
This cross we bear for long was built for sins that are yet to come
When stillness came to mind it showed no signs of backing off
It’s up to us to find the will to thrive against all odds
I’ve been to places never seen
Where sky ain’t blue and grass ain’t green

I never understood how loneliness had such a strong effect on us
And even in the darkest of times, I learned to leave some things behind
Some not so unique moments make it all worthwhile
Humanity is known for trying to make beauty out of sorrow and pain
Until we're on the other side of living, we have no clue of what remains
inside a haunted mind, besides its chains
In spite of slowly dying
We'll live as stars tonight
There ain’t no use in hiding
What may be our only light
Such a wrong time to be launched into stardom
Why do we romanticize death?
The rarest flower in a garden where sun has never shown its face
Those spotlights you deserved, but not for that
Reflecting our desires
We blend into the night
We’re invisible fire
Burning bright out of sight

I walk by the door
It reminds me we’ve been here before

Numbed by fear, petrified
I don’t know who walks by my side
They stood still and ignored the warning signs

In hindsight, it doesn't seem so wrong
To break down and cry
Forgiving what's never been said
I've figured out I'm halfway to the light.
